Charlotte and her daughter, Chloe
Charlotte Kemp founded Village Ceramics after leaving college in 1997.
She had been an active hobby ceramicist for a couple of years before but decided that rather than work for someone else she would set up her own business doing what she enjoyed doing most.
The studio has been in Cheam Village for nine years and has the capacity for up to 40 guests at any time. We also arrange outside visits for birthday parties, schools and youth groups.
Village Ceramics is unique in Ceramic Café terms in that we are able to offer a very wide range of pieces. Many are hand poured from our collection of over 2000 moulds. Our range of glazes is also huge and we offer the option to paint in stains (no further firing needed so pieces can be taken away immediately) as well as glazes.
We also pride ourselves in the help and guidance we provide for our guests. We are only too happy to show you different techniques and help with the difficult bits!
Charlotte's husband Jeremy runs a residential and household
cleaning services business across Surrey called House Husband Services. Feel free to have a look at Jeremy's site if you require any such assistance.
